AP Agriculture Budget 2024-25 Overview:

The Andhra Pradesh government presented its 2024-25 state budget in the Assembly, introducing a dedicated agriculture budget of ₹43,402 crore. State Agriculture Minister Achchennaidu highlighted the sector as the backbone of the economy, emphasizing the government’s commitment to uplift farmers. Key initiatives include issuing identity cards to tenant farmers, supplying modern farming tools and seeds at subsidized rates, and prioritizing interest-free loans and soil testing through advanced remote sensing technology. Additionally, soil labs will be established to provide micronutrient support for cultivation.

Crop Insurance: ₹1,023 crore

Department of Agriculture: ₹8,564.37 crore

Horticulture: ₹3,469.47 crore

Silk Industry: ₹108.44 crore

Agricultural Marketing: ₹314.8 crore

Cooperative Department: ₹308.26 crore

Natural Farming Initiatives: ₹422.96 crore

Minister Achchennaidu noted that these initiatives aim to support the 62% of Andhra Pradesh’s population dependent on agriculture, addressing rural development needs and bolstering agricultural growth through substantial investment assistance and modernized infrastructure.
